Influenza season is coming soon, scientific protection ensures health

2025-10-28

Recently, the temperature in many parts of China has dropped sharply, and respiratory infectious diseases have entered a high incidence season. The latest monitoring data from the China Influenza Center shows that influenza activity in southern provinces of China is on the rise, and the positive rate of influenza A H3N2 virus testing has increased in some areas. Experts suggest that this year's flu season is approaching, and the public should get vaccinated as soon as possible, take daily protective measures, and build a strong health barrier.

According to the influenza Diagnosis and Treatment Plan (2025) issued by the National Health Commission of China, influenza is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by influenza viruses. Influenza A and B viruses are seasonal epidemic every year, and influenza A virus can cause a global pandemic.

In terms of viral variation, the influenza virus currently circulating in Japan is mainly the H3N2 subtype A, and no major antigenic variations or highly pathogenic new strains have been found yet. The virus mutation is still within expectations, and significant mutations that cause vaccine failure have not yet been identified. According to international monitoring data, countries such as Japan have already entered the flu epidemic period ahead of schedule this year. China has frequent personnel exchanges with these regions, and the risk of importation cannot be ignored.

China's National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention recently released the "Health Tips for the Prevention and Control of Respiratory Infectious Diseases", which clearly states that good health protection will help prevent respiratory syncytial virus infection, influenza and other respiratory infectious diseases in autumn and winter.

The public should maintain good personal hygiene habits, including frequent hand washing, adequate ventilation, scientific wearing of masks, and avoiding crowded places as much as possible. If there are flu patients among family members, close contact should be minimized as much as possible, and the environment should be cleaned and disinfected.

In terms of medical resource preparation, many places have already deployed in advance. Medical institutions in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and other places have added pediatric night, noon and weekend clinics. Some regions are promoting vaccination at the household level and building a "family immunization protection circle".

Experts from the Institute of Infectious Diseases of the Chinese National Center for Disease Control and Prevention remind that influenza is not a common cold, and patients may experience systemic symptoms such as high fever, muscle soreness, and fatigue. If symptoms such as persistent high fever, difficulty breathing, and mental fatigue occur, seek medical attention promptly and use antiviral drugs under the guidance of a doctor. Do not blindly use "preventive medication".

With the high incidence of respiratory infectious diseases in autumn and winter approaching, experts call on the public to enhance their awareness of disease prevention, respond scientifically and rationally, and jointly safeguard respiratory health.
